Pilate let the crowd influence him, even to killing Jesus, whom he knew was innocent. How much influence does the crowd have in our lives? It's amazing how irrational frenzy can take hold. Will we have the courage to maintain our convictions about the Lord? --Even Peter did not.
Congratuations, everyone. We have completed the book of Luke!!!
Wow! Good questions. The crowd does influence people. Events influences people. Look at the stock exchange, up and down, depending on the events of the day in the world. Maintaining my convictions about the Lord takes faith and keeping in touch with Him through prayer and studies. Also keeping in touch with church folks and relationships with them. Peter must have felt isolated and alone. He feared he too might be crucified. He did not "get" what Jesus had been teaching him. All have problems we must get through and with God's help, I am at peace with the ones I have now. The Lord is my maintainer and gives me courage to continue on. We are not of this world...but passing through!
