The devil tempted Jesus after he was led into the wilderson by the Holy Spirit. Jesus refused to be tempted and said, " Don't test the Lord your God. Interesting the word, "your" was used...meaning God was also the devil's Lord. We are tempted daily by the same things: money, power and popularity. We want people to love us. More importantly, we are to love others! Jesus through the Holy Spirit is with us to help us with the temptations. Isn't it interesting that the same temptations come at us continually. The CEB ends in verse 13 with "the devil departed from Jesus until the next opportunity." We will always be tempted.
